Antonio de Pereda (1611-1678), St. Anthony of Padua with the Christ Child

By the 17th century it was common to picture St. Anthony of Padua embracing the Christ Child, as in this work by Pereda. The vase of lilies on the right are one of his attributes. As usual, he is pictured wearing the brown Franciscan habit with the rope belt.
